Have you ever sipped a local craft beer and contemplated the forests that helped make it? No, you say? Well, The Nature Conservancy is hoping to change that.

95% of beer is water, and 50% of our nation’s water is filtered by forests. Do the math: if you like beer, you should love trees.

This month, The Nature Conservancy is celebrating OktoberForest to raise awareness of the critical connection between healthy forests, clean water and good local beer. New Jersey has more than 100 craft brewers, and they get water for their beer and beer-making processes from near by rivers, streams and aquifers.
